As you can see, Jimmie Johnson is listed at the top, but will he be there at the end? Can Carl Edwards hold on to his slim lead? Let’s take a look at the odds, and a brief recap of their season:
Jimmie Johnson – 4/1 – as you can see, Johnson is second in the standings, and a slight favorite to win it all. Johnson has won one race, while finishing in the Top 5 7 times, and Top 10 12 times. Johnson has earned just over $3.6 million during the 2011 calendar year. Johnson is going to stick around, and with his ability to race well in big events – do not overlook Johnson. Carl Edwards – 9/2 – At 9/2, the current leader is always a good pick. Edwards has earned over $5 million in racing this season. Edwards has been a bit controversial with his style of racing, but has got the job done. Look for Edwards to fall off a bit late in the season. We are not picking Edwards to win the standings. Kyle Busch – 9/2 – along with Kevin Harvick, Busch has the most wins of any of the racers. Busch is only trailing by 16 points, so he is right where he wants to be. With his ability to win races, he is a dangerous racer. We think Busch has what it takes to win the title. At 9/2 – don’t hesitate to bet on Kyle Busch. Jeff Gordon – 6/1 – Gordon has the ability to string off a bunch of wins in a row. At his current location in the standings, Gordon needs to win a bunch to get back to the top. Gordon has won two races on the season, finishing in the Top 10, 9 times. Gordon certainly has a tough track to get back to the top, but it is something Gordon has the ability to do. Kevin Harvick - 6/1 – Harvick is just 12 points back, and probably the best value bet of the bunch. Harvick has three wins, so he has shown he can handle pressure at the top. Look for Harvick to win another race or two, and be a very strong contender in November for the Sprint Cup title. Denny Hamlin – 7/1 – Hamlin is 95 points back, and a major long shot.Enjoy the remaining reaces in the 2011 Sprint Cup Championship. Enjoy each weekend, and good luck with all your NASCAR betting!
