The Heat thought they had it won with a 3-pointer by Dwayne Wade in the fourth quarter around the seven minute mark. It was at that time the Mavericks took control and Jason Terry added eight points in a 15-2 run and Nowitzki made a lay-up with just under 4 seconds left to ice the game. The splint on his hand showed no problems for him as did his torn finger tendon . Nowitzki showed no ill effects of the splint on his left hand, scoring 24 points and adding 11 rebounds in the Game 2 victory. Now the Mavericks have a chance to get the upper in the best-of-seven series. Miami attemted 30 3-pointers in the game for 40% of their offense.

The Big Three failed to close the game out when they lead at the seven minute mark. They appeared to celebrate and believe they had it won. In the last seven minutes of the game the Heat made only one field goal which was a 3-ball by Mario Chalmers to tie the game with 25 seconds left in the game. Chris Bosh had a game to forget, shooting just 4 of 16 from the floor and getting beaten badly on Nowitzki’s game-winning shot. It was the first postseason loss for the Miami Heat at home this year.
