The Atlanta Falcons are looking to get on track to start the 2011 season. Atlanta took losses to Miami, Jacksonville and Pittsburgh in the pre-season. Head coach Mike Smith is not too worried about his team, as he has not played alot of his regulars for a long period of time. Smith expects to use his starters longer on Thursday. For Baltimore, pre-season games seem to be old hat for many of the veterans. The Ravens are coming off back-to-back wins over Kansas City and a squeaker over Washington, after the week one loss to Philadelphia. The Ravens defense expects to be one of the best again in 2011. Last season, Baltimore was the fifth best team agains the run; allowing just 93.9 yards per game. Baltimore will open up the season against a very tough Pittsburgh Steelers team in a battle of AFC North teams.

Our Ravens vs. Falcons Pick and Predictions

This should be a pretty good game, as both teams expect to play alot of their regulars for an extended amount of time. Both teams want to end the pre-season on an up note, heading into the regular season opener. Atlanta’s offense was to get rolling, while Baltimore wants to show that their defense is among the best in the league. We look for this to be a very tight game, but when the going gets tough, the Falcons offense scores enough points to find a way to win. We are betting the the Atlanta Falcons win their first pre-season game of the year and beat the Baltimore Ravens. Bet the Falcons -3 over Baltimore.
