Two teams that were in the postseason last year will get together for Sunday Night Football. The Green Bay Packers, with a perfect 4-0 record will head South to take on the Atlanta Falcons. Green Bay won their opener against New Orleans, and then backed it up with wins over Carolina and Chicago on the road, and most recently a win over the Denver Broncos in week four. For Atlanta, their 2-2 record keeps them in third place in the NFC South. The Falcons lost at Chicago, won against Philadelphia, lost at Tampa Bay and then won in Seattle on Sunday.
Atlanta Falcons (+5.5)
The Falcons are looking to get the offense going. Atlanta felt they would be one of the better offensive teams, but rank 11th in passing and 19th in rushing. Matt Ryan has completed 102 of 164 passes for 1,135 yards and 6 touchdowns. The Falcons top receiver has been tight end Tony Gonzalez, with two receptions for touchdowns. Atlanta also will see if they can get Michael Turner rolling in this one. Turner has rushed for 304 yards and 3 touchdowns on the season. The Falcons defense ranks 10th in the league against the rush, allowing just shy of 100 yards per game.
Green Bay Packers (-5.5)
The defending Super Bowl Champions have out scored their opponents 148-97 on the season. Green Bay scored 49 last week against the Denver Broncos, for a season high. Aaron Rodgers, who took over for Brett Favre, after winning the Super Bowl last season still is being discussed as an unproven quarterback. The quarterback has been sensational in 2011 with 1,325 passing yards and 12 touchdowns. Greg Jennings and Jordy Nelson are the top Green Bay receivers, with 3 touchdowns each. The Packers need to improve their passing defense, as they rank 31st, allowing 335.8 yards per game.
This should be a pretty good game on Sunday Night Football. The Packers have looked almost unbeatable, starting in week one. The Falcons are trying to figure out a way to be more consistent, and could really use a win at home to get back in the thick of things in the NFC South. In this game, we are betting the best team in the league; Green Bay Packers to beat the Atlanta Falcons. The line for this game is Green Bay -5.5, and that is going to be our final bet. Take the Packers.
