San Diego comes into the season with a new defensive coordinator. Ron Rivera left for Carolina, so the Chargers may look different on that side of the ball. The Chargers went 9-7 for second place in the AFC West last season, but failed to make the postseason. The Chargers will be playing for head coach Norv Turner’s job, as many have speculated, if San Diego falters, he will be fired. Phillip Rivers threw for over 4,700 yards a season ago, and many are talking about his chances for 5,000 this season. The Charges on the defensive end were the best in the NFL in pass defense, as they allowed 177.8 yards per game in the air. San Diego opens the 2011 regular season on September 11th at home against the Minnesota Vikings.
