Dallas will be under the leadership of Jason Garrett for a full season. Garrett took over for Wade Phillips last year, after the Cowboys had a terrible start to the season. The Cowboys play out of the NFC East, and should be in serious competition with the New York Giants for second place. The Eagles are predicted to win the division, with Washington picked by most to finish last. The Cowboys lost quarterback Tony Romo for much of last season, but still finished sixth in passing. Dallas is hoping to get star receiver Miles Austin back and healthy; he will not play in this game due to an injury.  Dallas starts the 2011 regular season at the New York Jets and then in week two they head to San Francisco to take on the 49ers.

San Diego comes into the season with a new defensive coordinator. Ron Rivera left for Carolina, so the Chargers may look different on that side of the ball. The Chargers went 9-7 for second place in the AFC West last season, but failed to make the postseason. The Chargers will be playing for head coach Norv Turner’s job, as many have speculated, if San Diego falters, he will be fired. Phillip Rivers threw for over 4,700 yards a season ago, and many are talking about his chances for 5,000 this season. The Charges on the defensive end were the best in the NFL in pass defense, as they allowed 177.8 yards per game in the air. San Diego opens the 2011 regular season on September 11th at home against the Minnesota Vikings.
