The Giants started the post-season with a bad loss at Carolina, where the team looked very flat. Then, in the second week, the Giants blasted the Chicago Bears. After this game with the Jets, the Giants will head to New England to take on the Patriots, on just three days rest – Thursday. New York wants quarterback Eli Manning to show more consistency. Rex Ryan and the New York Jets are once again jacked up for the new season. Ryan made plenty of news this week, claiming his team has been, and still is the best team in the city of New York. Ryan has had success, winning four postseason games on the road in the last two years, but yet to reach the Super Bowl. The Jets made big news in the off-season picking up former Giants receiver Plexico Burress. Burress has been hampered by a couple injuries, but expects to start Monday night. The Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez hopes to continue making a climb up the top of the NFL quarterback lists. Sanchez tossed for 3,291 yards and 17 touchdowns a season ago. The Jets lost to Houston and beat Cincinnati in the pre-season. They will face the Eagles on Thursday, and then get ready for their opening day on September 11th against Dallas.
Our Jets vs. Giants Pick and Predictions
This will be one of the most interesting pre-season games of the year. Despite not being in the same conference, or division, these two teams do not like each other. Tom Coughlin and Rex Ryan are both very hard nosed, tough coaches that hate to lose; especially to each other. On Monday night, the fans will be out in full force, after spending the weekend trapped inside due to the storm. This should be a really fun game. When it comes down to it, we feel the Jets have a better overall football team. Late in the game, the Jets will get a score and win this game by a touchdown. We are betting the New York Jets -2.5 to beat the New York Giants on Monday Night Football.
