Two teams out of the AFC East will get together for the Monday Night Football game of the week. Both teams come in searching for answers, as they are both coming off a loss. The Dolphins have lost all four of their games this season, and are coming off their bye week. For the Jets, they are 2-3. After winning their first two games at home, the Jets lost three straight games on the road. Both of these teams are looking up at the New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills for first place in the division.
New York Jets (-7)
The New York Jets are ready to get back home. The road was not kind to them, as they allowed 98 points in the three losses at Oakland, Baltimore and New England. The Jets traditional top notch defense has struggled this season, especially via the pass, where they are allowing 203 yards per game. New York on the offensive side hope to get their running game going. Shonn Greene and LaDainian Tomlinson are the top two running backs, but the run game ranks 31st with just 76.2 yards per game. New York has been outscored 125-121 on the season thus far.
Miami Dolphins (+7)
For the Dolphins, they are going to need to find some positives or the head coach Tony Sparano may be in South Beach no longer. The head coach appears to be on the hot seat after the 0-4 start. The Dolphins quarterback Chad Henne is out, therefore turning the reigns over to Matt Moore. The Miami defense has struggled, stating right away. When the Patriots blasted them via the pass game that set the tone for a poor pass defense all season. The Dolphins are allowing 307 yards per game via the air. The Dolphins have yet to see running back Reggie Bush rush for a touchdown all season.
This is an interesting game to pick. For us, no matter how bad Miami has looked in the early going, we cannot bet the New York Jets as a touchdown favorite, until they show they are the team of old. The Jets are turning the ball over too much, and their defense is having a horrible time getting off the field. Look for this game to stay close, due to many of those actions continuing. Matt Moore will keep Miami in the game. Late, the Jets will win, but most likely by a field goal. We are betting the Miami Dolphins +7 over the New York Jets.
