Steelers vs. Bengals Betting Overview
In a re-match of Week 10, the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers will get together. This time, in Heinz Field – home of the Steelers. On November 13th, the Steelers came away with a 23-17 win. Since that, Pittsburgh’s lone win came over the Kansas City Chiefs, in ugly Sunday Night football fashion. Cincinnati, after that loss, fell to the Ravens, but bounced back with a win over the Browns. Pittsburgh is tied with Baltimore for first place with an 8-3 record. The Steelers would hold the 5th seed in the AFC if the postseason started today. Despite two out of three losses, the Bengals are in line for the 6th seed in the AFC. Cincinnati is 7-4, and a game ahead of Denver, Tennessee and the New York Jets. A win would put the Bengals in a tie with Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh Steelers News and Betting Tips for Sunday, December 04, 2011
Pittsburgh looked ugly in the win last week. Mike Tomlin did not care. All he wanted was the win, and keep them in line to get back to the postseason. A season ago, the Steelers lost to Green Bay in the Super Bowl. This season has been up and down, including two losses to divisional rival Baltimore. The offense in the win over Kansas City was unable to punch the ball into the end zone on a couple occasions, and eventually just held on; scoring 13 points. The Steelers top target on the offensive side is Mike Wallace. Wallace leads the team with 6 touchdown receptions, while running back Rashard Mendenhall has six rushing touchdowns. The Steelers rank in the top 6 in both rushing and passing yards allowed. Only Houston and Baltimore can claim that, as well.
Cincinnati Bengals News and Betting Tips for Sunday, December 04, 2011
For Cincinnati, they are living and dying off their dynamic combination of Andy Dalton, A.J. Green and veteran Cedric Benson. Dalton, out of Texas Christian University and Green from Georgia have been sensational. The two have hooked up a total of 44 times, with 6 of them going for touchdowns. Even in the back-to-back losses to Pittsburgh and Baltimore; the Bengals seemed to show that they can hang around. The combined scores of the game were 55-41. Cincinnati has the fifth best rushing defense; allowing slightly over 90 yards per game on the ground.
Our Bengals vs. Steelers Pick and Predictions
There is no question who the favorite in this game is. The Pittsburgh Steelers won on the road last time. Pittsburgh is the defending AFC Champion. The Steelers have had a long history of beating the Bengals. In saying all of that, Cincinnati certainly is without a chance in this game. Troy Polamalu may miss this game with a head injury, Pittsburgh’s offense has been inconsistent, at best, and the Bengals have a very young, energetic nucleus. Now that we have set the table for this game, it will come down to the veteran team, doing the things they need to do to win a home divisional game. The Steelers have been there before, and will show it. We are betting Pittsburgh -6.5 over Cincinnati in this Sunday afternoon game.
