Redskins vs. Giants Betting Overview

In a battle of two NFC East teams, the Washington Redskins will host the New York Giants. The game is the first for both teams, in the opening weekend of the National Football League season. The Redskins and Giants both missed the postseason a year ago, as the Giants fell to Philadelphia late in the season to become eliminated. Both teams have a bunch of question marks coming into the game. Eli Manning spent the off-season trying to convince his critics he was one of the top quarterbacks in the game. Rex Grossman is the leader of the Redskins on the offensive side. Grossman has made a prediction that he will lead his team to the postseason. Lofty goal for a team that had so many holes last season for Washington.

Washington ended the pre-season with a win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Thursday. The Redskins got rid of their starting quarterback of last season; as he and head coach Mike Shanahan did not see eye to eye. Replacing McNabb will be former Florida Gators quarterback Rex Grossman. Grossman threw for over 800 yards and 7 touchdowns as the back-up last season. The Redskins offense will also look to running back Ryan Torain. Torain was the top rusher last season; running 164 times for 742 yards and 4 touchdowns. Washington plays their first two games of the season at home this season. Next week, the Redskins will host the Arizona Cardinals.

New York Giants News and Betting Tips for Sunday, September 11, 2011

The New York Giants are trying to find a way back into the postseason. Head coach Tom Coughlin also is being discussed as a guy on the hot seat for his job. Coughlin, a very fiery guy, elected to not go after his former receiver Plexico Burress. The Giants finished the pre-season on an up note, as they beat the New England Patriots in the pre-season finale. The Giants Eli Manning, who has one Super Bowl ring will be looking to improve on his 4,002 yards and 31 touchdowns from last season. New York’s top receivers will again by Hakeem Nicks and Mario Manningham, who combined for 20 touchdowns last season. The Giants hope their defensive end, Justin Tuck is able to play, as he has been listed questionable with an injury.

Our Giants vs. Redskins Pick and Predictions

Any time teams from within the NFC East get together, expect a blood bath, and a really good football game. The Giants are the better team here, but this game is being played in Washington. In the first week of the season, the teams that are going to struggle do not know how bad they are going to be, and play well early. Look for that to happen here. Washington will stick around in this game, but in the end, the New York Giants will come up with a win. We are betting the New York Giants -2.5 over the Washington Redskins on Sunday afternoon.
