2017 Champions League Final Preview – Juventus vs. Real Madrid
Real Madrid has had a very impressive run to the Champions League final and they are the defending champion and have hoisted the trophy in two of the last three seasons. In Champions League play they had eight wins, three draws, and a loss and they were the highest scoring team finding the back of the net 32 times in the tournament, which is not a shock with Cristiano Ronaldo leading the charge.
Juventus also had an impressive run to the final with nine wins, three draws, and no losses. While Real is led by their offense Juve is led by their tight defense, which only gave up three goals in CL play. In the knockout stage taking out Porto, Barcelona, and Monaco they did not allow a single goal until less than 10 minutes left in the semifinals win over Monaco.

Why Bet On Juventus
For Juventus it is all about their lockdown defense and you can be sure Ronaldo and company will test them in this match. The anchor of the defense is the ageless Gianluigi Buffon and with world class talent on the back line such as Dani Alves and Alex Sandro Juve’s D is a tough nut to crack. Another reason to bet on them is the fact they have new blood in the solid midfield.
Juventus lost in the Champions League final in 2015, knocking out Real in the semis, and none of the players in their stacked midfield were on the team. Juventus scored 21 goals in their run to the finals and while not the stellar attack of Real they have stars up front with Gonzalo Higuaín and Paulo Dybala combining for nine goals in the competition. It may also be Juventus’ time, as they have won five straight Italy Series A titles, but have not been able to win the Champions League in that span.
Why Bet On Real Madrid
Well, while Real Madrid is a balanced and loaded team they have Ronaldo, who is the best player in the world. Heading into the CL quarterfinals he only had two goals in seven matches, but then proceeded to score eight goals in the next three matches.
Karim Benzema is also up front and scored five goals in the competition and this duo is dangerous to say the least scoring nearly half of the goals for Real in the competition. They also have a good midfield led by Luka Modric and Toni Kroos and their own world-class defender duo in Marcelo and Dani Carvajal. This last duo has played well in the competition and they have been solid on the counter attack in the Champions League, which is key since Real is on the attack from the opening whistle.
One big concern for Real Madrid is the health of defender Daniel Carvajal. In the first leg of the Champions League semis he was injured and his timetable for return 3-4 weeks. If he cannot go it will be a big blow to the defending champions.
This match is all about Ronaldo and the attacking Real Madrid facing Juventus and their great defense. Ronaldo has been on fire in the last few CL matches, but the Juve D will contain him. They may not hold him scoreless, but he will not score multiple goals.
Juventus will get their chances on the counter-attack and take advantage of them. That added to the fact that they will play great defense equals a win. Juve will lift the Champions League trophy winning by a score of 2-1.
