Pinnacle Sportsbook Review
Pinnacle Sports was founded in 1998, operating from Curacao, Netherlands Antilles. I wanted to write a straightforward review composed mostly of facts – I had a hard time finding a review of Pinnacle Sports that did that, though I’m indebted to a few other writers for their quality work.
Pinnacle Sports has a solid reputation in the sports betting industry, in part for their longevity. What began as an offshore book with a single phone line is now a massive online operation that’s said to get more action on any given day than other books see in a year.
Pinnacle serves a large population of clients around the world – unfortunately not in the United States – and offers a ton of currency and language support. At the time of this review, Pinnacle had customers in 100 different countries, and is available in 21 languages, including Hebrew, Portuguese, and Swedish. Americans aren’t the only customers cut out from the service – Pinnacle is not currently accepting wagers from Denmark, Germany, France, Turkey, the Netherlands and a couple others.
Pinnacle Sports offers the best odds and highest bet limits.
Is Pinnacle the Best Online Sportsbook?
A lot of sportsbooks tout their great features, but Pinnacle backs it up. Whether it’s their thin margins, large bet and payment processing limits or excellent treatment of winners, Pinnacle commands the respect of most bettors. The video below (which was produced by Pinnacle Sports) gives bettors a great rundown of what sets Pinnacle apart. Check it out if you have just a couple minutes to learn about Pinnacle.com.

Pinnacle Sports Pros & Cons
I’ll start by talking about the book’s strong points, but make sure and read the cons at the end, too. While I recommend Pinnacle to sports bettors all the time, I like to give a totally balanced perspective on these sites. After all, you’re going to be spending real money placing bets. You should know everything there is to know.
Professional look – The website looks great, it performs intuitively, and even the casino games are tempting enough to have drawn me in for an hour or two. I love the real-time updates, even if that feature is becoming the norm at other books, it used to be pretty revolutionary.
Excellent bet limits – Pinnacle is clearly going after big spenders by offering the largest range of betting limits in the business. You can place really big wagers at this site – I’m not kidding. For example, NFL bets are limited to $30k on point spreads and $10k for moneylines and over/under wagers. You can even play casino games like baccarat and blackjack for $5,000 – $10,000 per hand at Pinnacle, if you have the bankroll for it.
Solid mobile service – I’m a big mobile gaming fan, so I’m always happy to find a mobile betting service that looks and performs like it should. Android phone, Apple tablet, it doesn’t matter, Pinnacle is accessible without any need for a software download. The difference between the desktop version of the book and the mobile version is negligible.
Reduced juice – Pinnacle famously offers -105 reduced juice every day of the year. It started as a promotion to increase interest in the fledgling service back in 1998. They had the bright idea of offering a reduced-margin price system (reduced juice) and depending on a reduced margin on a large number of bets for their profits. This reduced juice is available on head-to-head and spreads bets and is better than the standard -110 by a significant margin.
Check out for yourself why so many sports bettors love Pinnacle Sports.
No access for US players – Pinnacle stopped doing business with US-based bettors in 2007. The site was under pressure from the Department of Justice and also unable to do business with the US-based banks that had been processing their American customer’s payments. By the way – at the time, their customer base was more than half composed of Americans.
Licensure from Curacao – If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times. If a gaming site holds a license from a third-tier jurisdiction (like Curacao) they aren’t automatically corrupt. Pinnacle appears to offer a quality service – why can’t they make the switch to a more reputable licensing body?
No poker room – This wont be a huge deal for most sports bettors, but the some top online sportsbooks that offer a casino also offer a poker room. This could be seen as a good thing to some, because it allows Pinnacle to focus on what they are good at rather spending time on a well-serviced market. Some may find it disappointing, however.
Pinnacle proves that even the best sportsbook is not perfect, but you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better one. These comments are common among sports bettors online:

Pinnacle Sportsbook Bonus
The Pinnacle sportsbook does not offer a sign-up bonus when joining. In fact, they rarely offer any promotions. Instead, Pinnacle operates their website as a high-volume and reduced vig sportsbook, consistently offering the lowest-margin betting lines of any online sportsbook.
The lower margins is the Pinnacle sports bonus. The only difference from other sportsbook bonuses, is that this Pinnacle sports bonus never ends, meaning you will effectively receive a bonus on every bet you make.
Betting Markets for Pinnacle
All the major world sporting leagues are covered, except for horse racing events in the United States. Those events were dropped after the exit from the US market mostly because they no longer had customers that showed any interest.
The odds offered from Pinnacle for the major sports are the best in the world so that’s why it’s normally a favored landing place for novice bettors and pro punters alike. In total, you can make wagers on a few dozen sports depending on the time of year, with some of the most popular sports featured including::
- American Football
Most impressive about the selection of betting markets offered at Pinnacle is the scope of the various leagues available in the sportsbook. For example, you can wager on various football leagues for dozens of countries from Austrailia to Vietnam.
The site also covers many small-market events – the weirdest of which (to me) is professional table tennis. Of course, there is the obligatory political and entertainment coverage, but a unique feature at Pinnacle is the representation of eSports (video gaming) odds. You can wager on pro gamer performances on League of Legends (and tons of other games) at Pinnacle, and nowhere else as far as I know.

Pinnacle Live Betting
Live betting continues to gain more popularity among online sports bettors, and Pinnacle aims to attract players seeking this action as well. Pinnacle live betting interface is a no-frills interface providing betting lines on some of the most popular events of the day, mixed with a healthy amount of surprises.
The selection available will depend on the day, so bettors should have a look for themselves to what is featured for Pinnacle Live Betting. Punters can generally expect a healthy dose of live betting lines from most of the major sports including football, basketball and rugby.
You will be able to make your Pinnacle In-Play bets via the website, mobile or even through phone.
If you’re on a computer, nothing beats the functionality and options of the Pinnacle.com sportsbook. But if you want the convenience and simplicity of betting on your phone, Pinnacle mobile offers an excellent mobile-optimized interface. You can even choose to use the mobile option while on a desktop, if you prefer a simplified interface. Among the features of Pinnacle mobile is the ability to build a bet ticket without being logged on, funding your account while on the go and a one-click live odds feature.
In addition to accessing Pinnacle Sports on mobile, you can also play on a Pinnacle Casino mobile platform as well, where you will be able to access your favorite games.

|Pinnacle Casino||More than 25 mobile games including slots, table games and video poker|
Pinnacle.com obviously puts a huge focus on their sportsbook, but the Pinnacle Casino shouldn’t be considered an afterthought.
While you won’t have the huge selection of casino games that some online casinos offer, you will still be able to play many of your favorites and maybe a couple surprises. You’ll be able to find 50 different types of slots, 9 video poker games, blackjack, pai gow, baccarat, keno, roulette, craps and bingo. The Pinnacle casino also features a live casino with real dealers for baccarat, European roulette, American roulette, blackjack and casino hold’em. If you plan on mostly playing casino games, you will be better off elsewhere, but if you are the type of player who wants to sit down for a session in between sports bets, Pinnacle should serve you well.
Pinnacle doesn’t just offer low margins in the sportsbook. Players making bets in the Pinnacle casino will also receive unlimited 0.3% cashback for each bet they make. Pinnacle casino cashback is automatically credited to your account after each bet, something you just don’t see at other casinos.
Pinnacle Banking Options
Pinnacle offers 15 main payment methods and a selection of local options as well. Their list of deposit options is a little longer than their list of withdrawal options, as is the case at most online betting venues. A quick browse through the list shows that they accept deposits from major branded credit cards (Visa and MasterCard), eWallets like Moneybookers and Neteller, and country-specific services like POLi and UKash. They also accept and pay using bank wire and check-by-courier.
Most of the site’s available deposit options don’t come with any extra charges – Canadians take note that you will be charged an additional 1.25% fee on all withdrawals and deposits. Limits on deposits vary depending on currency, but most deposits and withdrawals are capped at the equivalent of $5,000 US. Depending on your player status, you can have these limits increased.
Withdrawals require the payment of a fixed fee, the rates for which change regularly enough that I recommend everyone go and look for themselves. You can get one free withdrawal each month, which is a nice feature.
Your options will vary according to your location and currency. Below are the most popular options. This is not a comprehensive list and you may have many more deposit and withdrawal methods available to you.

|Bank Transfer||€10-no max||Free||€15-no max||€20|
In addition to offering a wide selection of deposit and withdrawal options, Pinnacle also provides players with a huge selection of currencies to choose from, which will minimize the money lost from exchange rates.
Overall, this may be one of the areas where Pinnacle falls a bit short in an otherwise impressive product. Unfortunately, the only way to contact customer support at Pinnacle is through email. It’s strange that they don’t offer a toll-free phone number or a live chat service, since those options are becoming standard across the industry.
I’ve always had more success dealing with a live person on the phone, but at the time of this review that option just isn’t available. And they don’t seem to be in any hurry to add this feature, either. Fortunately, Pinnacle email support gets high marks for quality and response time.

There is also a help section available at Pinnacle.com which answers common questions in a dozen languages.
I recommend Pinnacle often, mostly to bettors in Europe and people who want to wager on European sports like soccer. I’d like it if they included some more customer support options, and of course it would be nice if they would open up service to Americans again. For the time being, Pinnacle is a trusted name offering good software, reduced juice, and coverage of a huge number of markets.
