TopBet Sportsbook Review
While they have become one of the better offshore options in recent years, TopBet Sportsbook has had a tumultuous history, dating back to 2002. The site first came online back then and was a product of FutureBet Systems.
FutureBet and their current flagship site, Oddsmaker.ag, has stolen at least a million dollars from bettors since their inception. FutureBet has taken much more over the past 15 years via a variety of different sportsbooks, casinos, and other online gambling sites using different aliases.
However, TopBet resurfaced in 2012 under a new management team. Bettors and the industry were right to be wary of this former scam sportsbook, but TopBet soon proved their worth with fast processing speeds and began to mend their relationship with the industry.
Now, in 2015, TopBet has become one of the best emerging options for sports betting in the United States. They still use FutureBet’s betting software, but they have no relation to the company and no affiliation with FutureBet’s management or any of their aliases.
TopBet’s management team is based in Asia. The company’s offices are located in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. They are still licensed offshore, however. Their parent company, Orient Power Holdings LTD, is licensed and regulated by the government of Curacao.
TopBet Sportsbook accepts players from all around the world but focuses on US residents and North American sports. In addition to an online sportsbook, they also offer an online racebook and Vegas-style casino.
$250 Deposit Bonus
New players will receive a 50% Deposit Bonus up to $250 on their first deposit. The deposit bonus isn’t the largest in the industry, but it comes with a reasonable 5x rollover. All bonuses at TopBet come in the form of freeplays.
Once players have cleared their first deposit bonus, their bonuses won’t stop there. TopBet offers a 10% reload bonus on all future deposits. This is an awesome promotion and one that comes with a lower rollover rate than the deposit bonus. Players will only have to rollover their balance 3x to clear this bonus.
TopBet also offers reload bonuses for the start of the NFL Season and for big events like the Super Bowl and March Madness. These are usually 25% bonuses and come with varying rollover rates. They also offer special offers to VIP clients.
TopBet Sportsbook is pretty innovative with their promotions. They offer plenty of contests through social media and have a host of other promos that add some real value for players.
During NFL and college football season, the sportsbook offers reduced juice from 6–9pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. On Tuesday, bettors can get -105 pricing on NCAA Football and receive the same discount on NFL wagers on Wednesdays.
Players will also be able to take advantage of free bet offers for Sunday and Monday Night Football, Sunday Night Baseball, TNT NBA Thursday, and many playoff games. All that is required to take advantage of the offer is that the player have $10 in their account.
Betting Markets Offered at TopBet
TopBet is about as U.S. focused as possible when it comes to sportsbooks in the U.S. market. Expats living in the United States won’t find much in terms of European or non-North American sports, aside from soccer.
Surprisingly, TopBet does a pretty steady job there and has just about every domestic league across Europe, including international competitions. Of course, the UEFA Champions League and Europa League are available for wagering.
The NFL garners the lion’s share of betting markets at TopBet Sportsbook. The NBA is a close second on a nightly basis. Both sports have a large assortment of lines and an extensive list of player and team props, along with futures.
Other sports, like college football and basketball, especially during tournament time, are not far behind. The NHL and MLB will have fewer markets than the above sports but are covered widely compared to lesser-known sports.
Their full list of sports includes golf, boxing, rugby, tennis, auto racing, cricket, mixed martial arts, and more. They also offer markets on entertainment events and politics.
Their full list of bets isn’t as extensive as some other sites but is more than adequate for most bettors. They offer parlays, teasers, if bets and reverses, and some unique betting opportunities.
TopBet is one of the few sportsbooks online that allows players to parlay proposition bets. Players will be able to parlay props with point spreads, money lines, and totals and other props. They’re the only sportsbook currently serving the US market that has this option.
TopBet offers live betting for several sports daily. Their live betting interface is excellent, but their betting markets for live wagering are just the basics. They offer updated point spreads and totals, but there are few player and team proposition markets available when betting live.
Top Bet is a relatively small sportsbook compared to some of the larger sites in the offshore industry. This isn’t a knock on them. They’re just geared more towards recreational bettors instead of high-limit professional-type sports bettors.
For this reason, their wagering limits will be lower across the board. Major markets, like NFL sides and totals, will have a maximum wager of $2,000. Other major sports, such as the NBA and college basketball, will come with a $1,000 max bet on sides and $500 on totals.
Smaller-market sports, along with NHL hockey and MLB baseball, will have substantially smaller betting limits. These have a maximum of $500 per side. Some more obscure markets will have betting limits as low as $250.
Deposits and Withdrawals
Even for the US market, Top Bet has a rather limited deposit and withdrawal menu. With that said, their cashier options are still adequate that few players should have any trouble depositing or withdrawing at the sportsbook.
Players can deposit instantly with no fees using their credit or debit MasterCard or Visa. They can also deposit using a Western Union transfer, which comes with fees up front. However, TopBet will reimburse players for these fees once they deposit if their transfer was for $300 or more.
TopBet Sportsook offers two payout options. Players can request payment back to their MasterCard or Visa Debit card or request a check by mail. Both methods are processed rather quickly and are at or ahead of the market standard.
Checks have a maximum amount of $2,500 per check and come with a $40 fee. They quote a processing time of 8–15 business days, but players have reported getting checks in about a week in many cases.
Payouts back to cards are faster and come with the same $2,500 limit. These are processed in just 3–8 business days, and the first withdrawal via this method is free of charge. An additional fee of $40 will be added to subsequent requests.
TopBet’s cashier speeds beat many larger sites that service the US market and are a definite sign that they are healthy financially.
Their support staff is one area we’ve heard some mixed opinions on from bettors. Our experiences with them have been strong, but some players report some minor issues with support.
Nevertheless, they offer 24/7 support, 365 days a year. Players can contact them through phone, email or live-chat application on TopBet.eu.
Overall Opinion of TopBet.eu
TopBet won’t ever be a top-tier sportsbook due to their low limits and middle of the road odds, but they are turning into a solid middle tier sportsbook. The site runs a near endless supply of promotions and contests and has a sizable number of markets for each sport.
Most importantly, their FutureBet past is in the rearview mirror, and payouts are being processed in a timely fashion. They aren’t our first option due to some subpar odds in some markets, but they’re an excellent site to grab a $250 bonus and try out.
