The National Basketball Association sees some great action this weekend. The games are heating up, as there are a load of teams fighting for the postseason, and another group of teams that are in “tank mode” for the top pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. Let’s take a look at the best NBA Weekend games:
Toronto Raptors at Washington Wizards – Friday
The Toronto Raptors are absolutely on fire. The Raptors have pulled out to a 43-17 record, and have the top mark in the Eastern Conference. Toronto is scoring in bunches, and their bench has been incredible. But, look out for Washington. The Wizards have moved to the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference, as they are now 10 games over .500. The WIzards are without John Wall, and that’s too much against a great guard oriented team in Toronto.
Minnesota Timberwolves at Utah Jazz – Friday
The Minnesota Timberwolves are holding on to that third seed in the Western Conference, despite missing their top scorer Jimmy Butler. Now, they will take on a Utah team that is just two games back of a postseason spot in the Western Conference. Minnesota has not been great defensively, but in this game, they will be good enough to take down the Jazz. Minnesota wins on the road Friday night.
Los Angeles Lakers at San Antonio Spurs – Saturday
The Lakers are making an effort to get back into the postseason race, but it’s going to be too little too late. The Lakers are 6.5 games back with 22 to go. That seems too daunting for a young team. The Spurs have not been real good, and are in danger if falling way down the Western Conference standings. Look for the Spurs to take care of business while at home in this game over the youthful Lakers.
Oklahoma City Thunder at Portland Trail Blazers – Saturday
Two teams that look to be heading to the postseason will finish the night Saturday night. The Thunder, despite their big three are not a given to make the postseason though. Oklahoma City is the 7th seed and just 2 games ahead of the Clippers and Denver. The Thunder picked up a big overtime win at Dallas, and that was their second straight. For Portland – they continue to roll with four straight wins. The Trail Blazers at home – that’s tough to beat. Take Portland at home.
Philadelphia 76ers at Milwaukee Bucks – Sunday
The 76ers and Bucks are tied for the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference. The Miami Heat are just a game behind, and they are just a game behind Indiana. It’s quite the log jam in the Eastern Conference. Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid are a tough combination, and the Greek Freak may be a bit banged up. Look for Philadelphia to go on the road and beat the Bucks on Sunday night.
