The Phoenix Suns and the Milwaukee Bucks are the final two teams standing in the NBA Playoffs, and these teams will meet up in the 2021 NBA Finals that begins this week. This was not a matchup that many people predicted, but it will lead to a great matchup.
Phoenix is the number two seed in the Western Conference, and the Suns have had little trouble throughout the playoffs. This team has been dominant at home, but it has also picked up some impressive road wins along the way.
Milwaukee was the number three-seed in the Eastern Conference, and it managed to stun the Brooklyn Nets in the second round. The Bucks dispatched the Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference Finals and did so without their best player.
In Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Tuesday night, the Suns are 5.5-point favorites over the Bucks.
Suns Series Favorite
Not only can you bet on each game of the NBA Finals, but series betting is also available. The Suns are the betting favorites heading into this series, but those odds could flip if the Bucks are able to steal a game on the road.
Heading into Game 1, the Suns are -154, and the Milwaukee Bucks are +125. Phoenix is not an overwhelming favorite, but Milwaukee will still be trying to pull off an upset by winning this best-of-seven series.

Will Paul Win Finals MVP?
If you are looking to make a bet on which player will win the NBA Finals MVP Award, you have plenty of options. Surprisingly, the Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo is not the betting favorite, but his injury concerns play a role in that.
Veteran Suns point guard Chris Paul is the NBA Finals MVP favorite at +150. Antetokounmpo is next on the list at +200 and would likely win the award if the Bucks win the title.
Devin Booker is next on the list at +275, and he has been the best player on the Suns during this playoff run. Bucks All-Star Khris Middleton has odds set at +800 to win the NBA Finals MVP, and he carried his team in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Suns Defense Could Be Difference
Both the Suns and Bucks can really score, but the defense might be the difference in this matchup. Phoenix was the third-best defensive team in the NBA this season, and they have the ability to completely shut down the Bucks.
Antetokounmpo missed the final two games of the Eastern Conference Finals with a knee injury, and his status could affect this series as well. Milwaukee has not given many updates about his status, but it is hard to see him not attempting to play.
If the Bucks are without their star, then they are going to need to be great on the defensive end of the floor as well. Phoenix has dealt with some injuries throughout the postseason as well, but they come into this series relatively healthy.
Phoenix Pulls Off Stunning Title Run
If Giannis Antetokounmpo was fully healthy heading into this series, then there wouldn’t be much separation between the two teams. He is likely going to attempt to play at some point, but there is no way that he can be close to 100 percent.
The Suns have the homecourt advantage, and that is going to play a role in the outcome of this series as well. Phoenix is going to be tough to beat on their home floor, even if the Bucks are at full strength.
This series should go at least six games, but it is hard to see Milwaukee winning more than two games. The Phoenix Suns are the right pick in this series, and that would make for a terrific story.
The Suns weren’t even a playoff team a season ago, but they are going to win the 2021 NBA Championship.
