Baylor Bears -7.5 vs. Villanova Wildcats
The Baylor Bears will take on the Villanova Wildcats in the South Region, and this has all the makings of a great game. The only problem is that Villanova is without guard Collin Gillespie, and that is a massive blow.
Baylor looks like it has found its rhythm once again, and they have four guards that are all capable of taking over a game. The Wildcats continue to play a fundamental style of basketball, but it’s hard for them to score.
Villanova will keep this game close for a while, but Baylor just has too much depth for the Wildcats to overcome. Bet the Baylor Bears -7.5 over the Villanova Wildcats in the South Region.
Gonzaga Bulldogs -13.0 vs. Creighton Bluejays
You don’t usually see a 13-point spread in the Sweet 16 Round in a game featuring two big schools. You also don’t usually see a team with as much talent as the Gonzaga Bulldogs, and this team has been destroying teams all season long.
Creighton is led by guard Marcus Zegarowski, and he has the ability to light it up in a hurry. The Bluejays do have the offense to keep this game close, but they typically struggle on the defensive end of the floor.
Gonzaga has three players that could all be NBA Lottery picks this season, and they are scoring more than 90 points per game. This team is looking to finish the year undefeated, and they do have what it takes to get it done.
Even though this is a large spread, betting on the Bulldogs -13.0 is the right way to go with this pick.
Oral Roberts Golden Eagles +11.0 vs. Arkansas Razorbacks
The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles are just the second 15-seed to ever reach the Sweet 16, but they deserve to be here. This team can score with anyone, and they have already knocked off two terrific programs during this run.
Arkansas had a terrific season in the SEC, and the Razorbacks have the type of offense that defenses had to defend. Arkansas will look to push the tempo and use their size and depth to wear down Oral Roberts.
The dream season for Oral Roberts is going to end this weekend, but Max Abmas is not going to go down without a fight. The Golden Eagles will keep pressure on Arkansas for the entire 40 minutes, and taking the points in this game is the way to go.
Arkansas will move on, but they are not winning this game by double-digits.
Syracuse Orange Money Line vs. Houston Cougars
The Houston Cougars are the number two seed in the Midwest Region, but they narrowly survived an upset bid against Rutgers. Houston is dealing with some minor injury concerns, and that could make this matchup with Syracuse challenging.
Syracuse is a six-point underdog against Houston, but they have played well in this role the entire tournament. The Orange are lighting it up from deep, and that trend should continue on Saturday night.
Houston is a terrific defensive team, but no one has been able to stop Buddy Boeheim and the three-point attack from the Orange. It’s hard to see the Cougars finding enough holes in the 2-3 zone to keep up with Syracuse.
This is the best value bet of the Sweet 16 as the Syracuse Orange are going to pull off the upset over the Houston Cougars.
