Top NCAA Basketball Games to Watch this Weekend

We are nearing the final few weeks of the college basketball regular season, but there are still a number of great games on the schedule. Conference races are heating up throughout the country, and teams are still trying to improve their NCAA Tournament resumes.

Here is a quick look at four of the biggest and best college basketball games to watch this weekend in college basketball.

Illinois Fighting Illini at Wisconsin Badgers

The Illinois Fighting Illini dominated the Wisconsin Badgers in the first matchup of the season, but now the two teams will meet up in Madison, Wisc. The Michigan Wolverines are going to win the Big Ten Conference, but bragging rights are still on the line for each team.

Kofi Cockburn and Ayo Dosunmu give the Illini a terrific 1-2 punch, and Wisconsin doesn’t have an answer for them. Unfortunately for Illinois, Dosunmu may still be out for this one with a fractured nose. The Badgers shoot the ball much better on their home floor, but they don’t have the offense to keep up.

Expect this game to be closer than the first matchup of the season, but Illinois is simply the better team. Bet the Fighting Illini over the Badgers on Saturday.

Texas Longhorns at Texas Tech Red Raiders

The Big 12 Conference is not considered as strong as the Big Ten Conference, but there are still some terrific teams. Texas Tech and Texas are both Final Four contenders this season, and this is an important game for potential seeding.

Texas got off to a great start in conference action, but it has started to head the wrong way in recent weeks. The Longhorns are a terrific three-point shooting team, and their guards are able to lead the way.

Texas Tech is led by transfer Mac McClung, who will be a first-team All-Big 12 Conference performer this season. The Red Raiders remain a terrific defensive team, and that defense should help determine the outcome in this game.

These teams are extremely evenly matched, and so the homecourt advantage will play a role. Take the Texas Tech Red Raiders over the Texas Longhorns on Saturday.

Baylor Bears at Kansas Jayhawks

Don’t look now, but the Kansas Jayhawks are trending in the right direction, and they could go on a deep run in the NCAA Tournament. Baylor comes into this game with a perfect record, but winning at Allen Fieldhouse won’t be easy.

Baylor is arguably the best team in the country, and it has a trio of guards that are hard to defend. Jared Butler is an All-American candidate, and the Bears just continue to overwhelm teams with their depth.

Kansas has really struggled to shoot the ball this season, and that will likely continue being an issue. The Jayhawks have started to slow games down, and they will look to use the same strategy against Baylor.

Kansas is going to be a big underdog in this game, but betting against them is never easy. With that said, Baylor is one of the best teams in the country, and they aren’t losing this game.

Iowa Hawkeyes at Ohio State Buckeyes

The Big Ten Conference is absolutely loaded, and two of the best teams in the conference are set to meet up on Sunday. Ohio State hosts Iowa, and this is a matchup of potential Final Four contenders.

Iowa is one of the best offensive teams in the country, and there aren’t many teams that shoot better than the Hawkeyes. Iowa is also led by Luka Garza, the center that will likely win the National Player of the Year Award this season.

Ohio State can score as well, but it is a much better defensive team. The Buckeyes have exceeded expectations this entire season, and they are a veteran team that knows how important it is to protect home court.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are going to win this game at home over the Iowa Hawkeyes, but it’s going to be a battle.
