The Monday Night Football game will feature two upstart AFC teams. The Pittsburgh Steelers will meet up against the San Diego Chargers. Both teams come into the game with matching 2-2 records. The Steelers lost their first and most recent game, with wins in between. The Steelers have losses to New England and Baltimore, with wins over San Francisco and St. Louis. Michael Vick is the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, as Ben Roethlisberger sits out with an injury.
The Steelers are 8th in the NFL in points allowed, as they are only allowing 18.8 per game. Offensively, the Steelers are scoring 24 points per game. For San Diego, they have followed the same path. The Chargers have wins at home over Detroit and Cleveland, and road losses at Cincinnati and Minnesota. San Diego ranks second in all of the NFL with 309 passing yards per game.
Take the Chargers at Home
The Pittsburgh Steelers need a win bad, especially coming off their home loss last week to the Baltimore Ravens. The San Diego Chargers could use a win, and get back above .500. Philip Rivers and the passing game, as we mentioned earlier have been solid. Melvin Gordon, the rookie running back is set to have one of his best yardage games of the season.
Look for this game to be close throughout, but late in the game, the San Diego defense will get the job done. Look for the result to end up around 10. Expect a 24-20 type game in San Diego. The Chargers win, the Chargers cover, but Pittsburgh certainly gives a great effort in this one, especially without their starting quarterback.
Look for Defenses to Win out in this Game
The Pittsburgh Steelers can defend, and they will HAVE to defend in this game to have a chance. Without Ben Roethlisberger, they will struggle to score. Michael Vick is certainly not a bad option at back-up quarterback, but Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown are not nearly as effective with Vick as they are with Roethlisberger. For San Diego, they are certainly better at home than they are on the road.
The Philip Rivers to Keenan Allen combination has been fun, and look for them to hook-up again in this one, but not out of control against that Pittsburgh defense. Taking the under 45.5 points in the San Diego Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers game could be worth a chance. Bet the under 45.5 on Monday Night.
San Diego Moneyline is Worth a Gamble
You are here to gamble, right? The San Diego Chargers are the favorites in this game, and they are worth a shot at the Moneyline. I mean, you want money, you have to bet money, and the moneyline could be one of those. While we like the Chargers to cover the spread as well, with the moneyline, you do not have to worry about how much they win by.
Look for Gordon, Rivers and Allen to be just a bit better than Vick, Bell and Brown. Taking the San Diego Chargers -175 moneyline seems like a nice bet worth taking. Give it a shot, and thank us later. Enjoy this Monday Night Football affair!
