Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers will face quite the challenge in Week 6 as they head to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers. The Packers are 5-0, and in complete control of the NFC North. Green Bay is coming off their 24-10 win over the St. Louis Rams. Despite winning the game, the Packers turned the football over three times.
For San Diego, they took a tough loss at home to Pittsburgh in Week 5. The Chargers are 2-3, which is 3 games behind the Denver Broncos in the AFC West. San Diego did get good news last week as tight end Antonio Gates returned to action after being suspended for the first four games of the season.
Betting the Packers at Home is like Free Money
The Green Bay Packers have gotten off to a sensational start, and don’t look to be turning back anytime soon. The Packers look like they are going to run away with the NFC North, ahead of Minnesota by 2.5 games. Green Bay is coming off their win over the Rams, where they turned Aaron Rodgers over three times, in a home game. Look for Aaron Rodgers to clean that up, which is a good sign for Green Bay. Randall Cobb seems to be the healthiest he has been all season long, which is another great sign for the Packers.
Philip Rivers has been pretty good this season, but on the road against an extremely underrated Packers defense is cause for concern. We have seen Philip Rivers and Keenan Allen go crazy before, and also seen them be duds before. Look for Aaron Rodgers to have this game completely under control. Actually expect Eddie Lacy to have his best game of the season, as the weather cools down. We don’t think there is any doubt that the bet to make in this game is the Green Bay Packers -10.5 over the San Diego Chargers.
Take the Under in This Game as Green Bay can Bring it on Defense
The Green Bay Packers are a scary offense, so taking the under in any of their games isn’t always ideal. But, in 2015, the Packers are only allowing 16 points per game. The Chargers offense isn’t all that much better than that of the St. Louis Rams a week ago. San Diego may get two touchdowns on the board, but I do not expect them to get into the 20’s.
As long as Aaron Rodgers doesn’t go too crazy with his dynamic offense, the under should be a safe bet to play here. Look for this game to end somewhere around 31-17, which would stay under the total of 51 that Las Vegas has placed on it. We are going to bet the UNDER 51 in the Green Bay Packers vs. San Diego Chargers game on Sunday afternoon.
Halftime Bet is in Play for this Game
This is the type of game where a 1st half bet would be a fantastic bet. The Green Bay Packers are at home, and have been at home all week. The Chargers are coming off a tough loss on Monday Night Football, and have a short turn around. San Diego has to make the long cross country flight, which is all the signs for concern. The Chargers have shown that they will turn the football over as well, which could make things even uglier.
This is a great game to make a first half bet on. We like the Green Bay Packers -5.5 over the San Diego Chargers in the 1st half of the game on Sunday afternoon.
