NFL Divisional Round Survivor Picks For 2020

NFL Divisional Round Survivor Picks For 2020

It’s time for the divisional round of the NFL Playoffs, and there are four terrific matchups on the schedule this weekend. The two AFC games have much bigger point spreads, while the NFC games should be tight.

There were a few upsets in the Wild Card Round, and you can expect an upset or two again this weekend.

We have taken a look at each game, and we have picked out the two teams that we think are locks to win this weekend. We will give you our breakdown below, but here are the four options to choose from. Point spreads included to help you make your decision:

  • San Francisco 49ers -7.0 vs. Minnesota Vikings
  • Baltimore Ravens -10.0 vs. Tennessee Titans
  • Kansas City Chiefs -10.0 vs. Houston Texans
  • Green Bay Packers -4.0 vs. Seattle Seahawks

Here are our two locks:

Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs might not be the top overall seed in the AFC, but they are definitely one of the hottest teams. The Chiefs had to battle through some tough injuries during the regular season but still earned a home game in the Divisional Round.

Kansas City has come close to reaching the Super Bowl in recent seasons, and this year just feels like its season.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes had to miss some time with a knee injury, but he still managed to throw for over 4,000 yards this season. Mahomes has proven time and again that he is an elite quarterback, and he should have a big game in this one.

The Chiefs average over 280 passing yards per game, and they are facing a very weak secondary.

The Chiefs spent a lot of time and money in the offseason to try and shore up their defense, and the results have been tremendous in 2019. Kansas City has held opponents to less than 20 points per game, and they had some dominating performances during the regular season.

The Chiefs will be facing a terrific quarterback in this game, but they should be able to get some pressure on Deshaun Watson.

Houston was lucky to survive the Wild Card Round, and its luck won’t carry over into this game. The Texans are going to try to get into a shootout with the Chiefs in this game, and that is a bad strategy.

The Kansas City Chiefs are one of our survivor picks this weekend.

Green Bay Packers

New head coach Matt LaFleur was a breath of fresh air in Green Bay, and the Packers finished the season with a 13-3 record to win the NFC North Division. There is a chance that it will be cold and snowy in Green Bay for this game, and that is another thing that will give the Packers an edge.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers had another terrific season in 2019, and he finally got some help for the first time in a few years. Rodgers threw 26 touchdown passes to just four interceptions during the regular season, and he is going to have a big day against the Seattle Seahawks secondary.

Running back Aaron Jones and linebackers Za’Darius and Preston Smith have also been tremendous for the Packers this season. Jones has tallied 16 rushing touchdowns, while Smith and Smith have combined for over 26 sacks. The Packers will definitely be following the lead of Rodgers, but this is a great supporting cast.

Seattle is extremely beat up, and it didn’t exactly look great in the Wild Card Round. The Seahawks have struggled on defense, and it’s hard to predict who will be in their backfield.

The Green Bay Packers are winning this game and moving on to the NFC Championship Game.
