Top Picks for NFL Week 12

Top Picks for NFL Week 12

Both teams that competed for the Super Bowl a year ago lost in Week 11. The Seattle Seahawks lost to the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Denver Broncos suffered an upset loss to the St. Louis Rams. While the Broncos’ loss hurts, it will probably end up hurting the Miami Dolphins even more when those teams meet this week. Here are our NFL Week 12 picks.

NFL Week 12 Game of the Week

Arizona Cardinals @ Seattle Seahawks
Sunday, 4:05 PM ET

The Cardinals found a way to get the job done against the Lions. Drew Stanton threw for 306 yards and two touchdowns. Despite tossing two interceptions in the 14-6 win, he still outplayed Matt Stafford and a very good Lions team.

The Arizona coaching staff continues to do an excellent job on both sides of the football, and now they face their toughest test of the year: a road trip to Seattle.

The 12th man will be rocking at kickoff as the Seahawks fight for the postseason. It will be interesting to see how Stanton and the offense reacts. Jamaal Charles ran all over the Seahawks’ defense last week, finishing with 159 yards and two scores in a 24-20 win.

Seattle will have to fix that this week. Meanwhile, Russell Wilson and the Seahawks’ offense only managed 168 passing yards last week. Seattle should find a way to win this game at home thanks to a better effort on defense, but they probably won’t cover the spread.

Our Pick: Bet on Arizona (+7)

Underdog NFL Game of the Week

New York Jets @ Buffalo Bills
Saturday, 1:00 PM ET

The last time we saw the Jets, they were beating the Pittsburgh Steelers for their second win of the season. Now off their bye well, they’re prepared for Buffalo. Despite still being in contention, the Bills are having some severe challenges right now. Quarterback Kyle Orton has proved to be nothing more than a stopgap, and there are rumors that he’s close to getting pulled.

The Jets are ranked fifth for their rushing attack, and they should be able to get enough out of Michael Vick to keep this game close until the end. Orton and the Buffalo offense won’t score enough to pull away. It’s a must-win situation for Buffalo, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll come through.

They should find a way to get the victory, but this one will probably go down to the wire. The fact that Buffalo is being snowed down on like crazy at the moment, they might not have a true home field advantage if the NFL decides to move the game to another location this Sunday.

Our Pick: Bet on the Jets (+4.5)

Two-Team Teaser of the Week (7 Pts.)

Detroit Lions @ New England Patriots +
Miami Dolphins @ Denver Broncos

The Miami Dolphins boosted their playoff chances by beating the Bills. They will now face the Broncos, who are looking to get back on track this week. The NFL betting community believes that the Broncos won’t lose back-to-back games, so with the seven-point tease, all we need from them is a victory.

For our second choice, we’ll ride with the top team in the AFC. New England continued to roll with a 42-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts last week, and the Patriots shouldn’t have to sweat too much to beat the Lions.

Detroit mustered six points in a road loss to Arizona last week. Their chances of winning in a cold and snowy New England are slim, however, if Megatron and Golden Tate can get their act together they could at least put up a fight.
