Week 13 NFL: Patriots vs Packers & Panthers vs Vikings Picks

Week 13 NFL: Patriots vs Packers & Panthers vs Vikings Picks

The defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks saved their season with a 19-3 win over the Arizona Cardinals last week – and then made an even bigger statement with a Thanksgiving win over their division nemesis 49ers. Also last week, the Denver Broncos rallied for a 39-36 win to keep up with the New England Patriots in a heated AFC battle for home field in the playoffs.

Picks.org takes a look at the aforementioned Patriots and their HUGE matchup against the Green Bay Packers, where Tom Brady and Co. will be taking on an ungodly hot Aaron Rodgers at the not so friendly confines of Lambeau Field. We’ll also lay out our picks for the Panthers/Vikings game and throw in a 2-team teaser for you to bet as well! Good luck this weekend!

NFL Game of the Week – Week 13

New England Patriots @ Green Bay Packers
Sunday, 4:25 PM ET

This week Tom Brady will go head-to-head with Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers has already thrown for nearly 3,000 yards and 30 touchdowns, and Green Bay is coming off three straight home wins. Meanwhile, Brady is also on the verge of hitting the 3,000-yard passing mark with 26 touchdowns. He has led New England to seven straight wins and the best record in the NFL.

The Patriots have dominated over teams that are either leading or tied for the lead in their respective divisions. New England has won all six games against teams in those positions by a shocking average of 22 points. Brady and company may struggle to win at Lambeau this weekend, but they should at least be able to keep it close until the end. You can’t bet against the hottest team in the NFL right now.

Pick: Patriots +3

NFL Underdog Play of the Week – Week 13

Carolina Panthers (+2) @ Minnesota Vikings
Sunday, 1:00 PM ET

Carolina has looked absolutely awful at times this year, but considering Minnesota’s performance, it’s hard to see the Vikings as the favorite in this game – even with the home field advantage. Teddy Bridgewater has been erratic at best, and there has been too much pressure on the defense to keep them in every game.

Cam Newton hasn’t had the weapons or the protection to get the Panthers to the playoffs this year, but they have had a full week off to prepare for this game. Newton looked really banged up before the break, so an extra week of rest should help him out. It’ll be a tight one, but the Panthers should find a way to pull out a rare win.

Pick: Panthers +3

Two-Team Teaser of the Week (7 Pts.)

Seattle Seahawks @ San Francisco 49ers +
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Denver Broncos

Both of these games could very well go down to the wire, and it makes sense to take the points in each of them. In both cases, we can tease the underdog up by seven points to move them both over a touchdown.

Seattle is battling to get back in the playoff picture, and there is no better opponent for them to rally against than the 49ers. San Francisco has been inconsistent all year, and it seems like just when they gather momentum, they end up losing a game. The Seahawks won’t win this game in a blowout, but they should find a way to steal a victory or keep this close. The 8.5-point cushion is too big to ignore.

Meanwhile, the Broncos have looked shaky over the past couple of weeks, including a loss to St. Louis and a close-shave win over Miami. Kansas City kept it close the first time these teams met in Denver, and they should cover the +8.5 this week now that it’s their turn to host. They’ve been playing well and with 10 days to prepare, they might win this game outright.

Pick: Seahawks +8.5 & Chiefs +8.5
