NFL Week 5 Best Bets

NFL Week 5 Best Bets

It’s Week 5 of the National Football League season, and once again, the league is dealing with scheduling issues surrounding the coronavirus pandemic. So far, all 15 games are still scheduled to occur, but that could change as we get closer to the weekend.

The Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions both have byes in Week 5, and so there will be just 15 games on the schedule. With so many games slated, there are some terrific betting options available.

Here are the three best bets in the NFL this week.

Cincinnati Bengals (+12.5) at Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens host the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday in a huge AFC North rivalry game, and Baltimore is an overwhelming favorite. The Ravens are 3-1 so far this season, while Cincinnati is just 1-2-1.

Cincinnati has been getting tremendous play from quarterback Joe Burrow, and the rookie has thrown for more than 300 yards in two straight games. Joe Mixon also gives the Bengals a reliable option in the backfield, and this offense can keep almost any game close.

Baltimore has still been running the ball well this season, but the passing attack just has not been there. Quarterback Lamar Jackson has been incredibly accurate, completing more than 68% of his passes, but the Ravens will have to throw the ball more effectively against an aggressive defense.

The Ravens are the better team in this matchup, but that doesn’t mean things will be easy. Cincinnati has plenty of momentum, and they will keep this game close.

Take the 12.5-points and bet on the Cincinnati Bengals in this AFC North showdown.

Cleveland Browns (+1.5) vs. Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts host the Cleveland Browns on Sunday in a battle of 3-1 teams. Both teams started the 2020 season with a loss, but they have turned things around in a hurry.

This game will feature one of the most explosive offenses in the league in the Browns (yes, you read that right!) against a terrific defensive team in the Colts. The team that can impose their will in this game will likely be the team that comes away with a victory.

Cleveland has been running the ball like crazy this season, and they also have a pair of explosive playmakers in Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry. If the Browns give Baker Mayfield some protection, he will have a big game in this one.

Indianapolis has been great on defense, but this team is still looking for more offensively. Quarterback Philip Rivers has been accurate, but he doesn’t challenge opponents with the deep ball.

Cleveland has too much offense for the Colts in this game, and that will allow them to pull away late. Take the points and bet on the Browns +1.5 in this game.

Los Angeles Rams (-7.5) at Washington Football Team

The 3-1 Los Angeles Rams head East to take on the 1-3 Washington Football Team. This game looks like a huge mismatch on paper, but the Rams are just 7.5-point favorites in this matchup.

Los Angeles has been winning games with rushing and defense so far this season, but quarterback Jared Goff can still take over a game. Washington does not provide a substantial defensive threat, and the Rams could put up a ton of points in this game.

Washington is making a change at the quarterback position in this game, inserting Kyle Allen over Dwayne Haskins. Haskins struggled with accuracy and turnovers, and head coach Ron Rivera is hoping the change leads to better offensive performance.

The quarterback change won’t fix things for Washington, and this game will get out of hand in a hurry. Bet the Los Angeles Rams -7.5 over the Washington Football Team.
