UFC 133 Odds and Predictions

We are just under two weeks away from UFC 133. This event will take place at the Wells Fargo arena in the city of brotherly love – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. UFC 133 is a mixed martial arts event that features some of the top fighters in the sport. The main card that has been scheduled is one of the best in recent times. The most recent UFC event was in July in Sin City – Las Vegas. Let’s take a look at the odds for the event, and then we’ll take our pick as to the winners.

Light Heavyweight Bout: Rashad Evans (-400) vs. Tito Ortiz (+300)

Two American fighters are on tap for the top fight of UFC 133. Rashad Evans and Tito Ortiz will get together. Evans is the favorite in this battle. Evans is 31 years old and holds a 15-1 record in his career as a fighter. His lone loss came to Lyoto Machida back in 2009. Ortiz is the underdog; a role he is not real accustomed to. Ortiz is 36 years old, and comes in with a 16-8 record. Ortiz is coming off a win over Ryan Bader on July 2nd, 2011.

Our pick: Rashad Evans will knock-out Tito Ortiz. Bet Evans at -400 over Ortiz.

Middleweight Bout: Vitor Belfort (-300) vs. Yoshihiro Akyiama (+220)

Brazilian Vitor Belfort looks to bounce back from his loss to Anderson Silva by downing Yoshirio Akiama in UFC 133. Belfort had his six match win streak snapped with the most recent loss. Akyiama, from Japan, will turn 36 years old at the end of July. Akyiama is looking to snap a two match losing streak. He lost to Michael Bisping and Chris Leben in his last two times in the ring.

Our pick: We are betting the underdog, Yoshihiro Akyiama to beat Vitor Belfort. Akyiama is the underdog at +220.

Welterweight Bout: Dennis Hallman (-120) vs. Brian Ebersole (-110)

Another bout featuring two American fighters pits Dennis Hallman and Brian Ebersole. Hallman is 36 years old and is commonly known as “Superman” among his friends and peers. Ebersole is 30 years old from LaPorte, Indiana. He has complied a 47-14 record in his career as a mixed martial arts fighter.

Our pick: Brian Ebersole is our pick here. We are taking Ebersole -110 over Hallman.

Middleweight Bout: Jorge Rivera (-150) vs. Costaninos Philipou (+135)

Otherwise known as El Conquistador – Jorge Rivera will battle with Costanious Philipou at UFC 133 in Philadelphia. Rivera is 19-8 and coming off a loss to Michael Bisping at UFC 127. Philipou was expected to face Rafael Natal, but will now go up against Rivera. Philipou holds a 7-2 record,  but is coming off a loss to Nick Catone.

Our pick: We like Jorge Rivera to beat Constanious Philipou. Bet Rivera at -150 today!

Welterweight Bout: Rory MacDonald (-280) vs. Mike Pyle (+210)

Canadian fighter Rory MacDonald just turned 22 years old, and will now take on Mike Pyle at UFC 133 at Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia. MacDonald is known for his wrestling and boxing styles. MacDonald is now 11-1 in his career, after he was downed by Carlos Condit back in June of 2010. Mike Pyle will turn 36 years old, and lives in Tennessee. Pyle is 27-7 in his career, and has won his last three bouts.

Our pick: Rory MacDonald is the favorite, and we are picking him to beat Mike Pyle.
